Animal adoption in ZOO Plzeň, what does that mean?
It is very simple to adopt an animal in ZOO Plzeň. First, the godfather-to-be chooses his favourite animal. Then he fills in the registration form and makes payment of the given amount (personally in ZOO or at specified bank account). The adoptive relation lasts then for 12 months since the following day. The specified sum corresponds to the real costs spent on one-year feed for the given species. The adoption can be renewed after one year

What does "godfather" gain?
  • pleasant feeling because he helped good thing
  • when the contribution is less that 4000 Kč he gains free ticket for 4 visits of our ZOO
  • when the contribution is between 4000 and 10 000 Kč he gains free ticket for 8 visits of ourZOO
  • when the contribution is more than 10 000 Kč he gains one-year free ticket
  • sticker "Jsem kmotrem v ZOO Plzeň" (means I am a godfather in ZOO Plzeň), annual report ZOO and BZ of the town Plzeň, where he will be presented
  • godfather's name or the company's logo presented in ZOO premises
  • he will be the guest at the annual "meeting of godfathers of ZOO Plzeň"



  
Like the overwhelming majority of zoological gardens in the Czech republic, ZOO Plzeň is also established by the city, municipality of Pilsen city to be specific. Except the state grants for the breeding of the most endangered species, participate in the Zoo's activity only sponsors' donations (either company or individual).
Many large and small companies, schools and families have understood the present situation of zoological gardens and strive to support our effort by the financial means or just by a reciprocal service or a discount for a service or a material.
Small contributors (so-called godfathers) help us to provide the breeding of single animals; larger companies then participate in the bigger projects of the garden (i.e. exposition construction, children days and other cultural events). Everybody who to a great degree helps the ZOO and BZ Plzeň has the right to gain some form of acknowledgements. ZOO intensively seeks to find various forms of reciprocity towards the sponsors. It can be the promotion of the sponsor on the opening of new expositions in the attendance of main regional media, a billboard at the Zoo's fence, thankful board by an exposition of the certain animal and when agreed (count of persons, period) the possibility of discount or free access into the ZOO and BZ.
