Capybara
Capybara is the biggest living rodent in the world, growing the length up to 130 centimetres and weight to 66 kilograms, but its forefather living still a million years ago was big about like a rhinoceros. Cabybara´s standing in southamerican nature reminds African river horses. They live also mainly on dry earth, but their refuge is water and comparable with a river horse their eyes, ears and nostrils are located on the head at the same level. Capybaras are excellent swimmers and are able to remain under water till 10 minutes. They have legs with a swimming web that serves both to swim and to walk in boggy earth. They live in riverside of Brazil’s and Paraguay’s rivers in hard accessible moorlands and rushes. They feed overmost on pulpy water plants, buds and soft bark. They become often a prey of both people and jaguars or caimans. At last time there appear farms in America where these beauty animals are bred for their alleged excellent meat and skin.
