In May and June there was lots of news happening in the world of animals:

- Bands were placed on the wild storks that have their large nest on the top of the chimney behind the gift shop building. It can easily be seen from anywhere near this area.
- This is the first time that both Coati females gave birth around the same the
time.
- In the history of the zoo 6 bison have been born, the most recent a male in the spring of this year. He was baptized and named Arona. The group of Verodal Casino de Arona from Tenerife and MFF CIOFF Mgr. Michaela Vondrackova.
- In the Birds of Prey Aviary, 3 White Necked Ravens are already flying around.
- A demonstration of grass cutting with a scythe was given in Lochotin.
- Another issue of Iris 2008 – 2 was printed.
- A large number of Marmoset Monkeys was born. Emeror Tamarins had twins for the first time.
